Farmed chickens are routinely (and legally) given a drug that promotes growth, kills intestinal parasites and creates a pinker hue to the chickens body. Use of the drug has been suspended by the FDa until a full scientific investigation can be made to determine of the levels of arsenic (which is a known carcinogen) are acceptable for human consumption. [via New York Times]
